ISHTAR . Iniciativa Sensible a l’Hàbil Treball Artístic i Revolucionari / ISHTAR - Initiative Sensitive to Daft Artistic and Revolutionary Work.

Rooted in the will to share my studio with other artists, this was a personal project that I began in 2012.  With great enthusiasm I designed a socio-cultural project to promote creation, exposure for artists, alongside multigenerational and pluridisciplinary recreation activities.  It was a creation space where a solid platform served to facilitate creation and creativity in individuals and groups.  Based on an inclusive economic model, affordable for a wide range of participants, it sought a self-sustaining management for the project, self-education and exchange for and among creative enterprisers, and an offering of multi-disciplinary activities for the general public.
It contemplated a social area with a self-financed collective kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and living room, so that those with fewer necessities could count on a place where they could meet all kinds of people and find synergies to meet their needs in a sustainable and enriching way.
It also contemplated artistic residencies, and thousands of other initiatives for a better society to work,  and to make creating easier by providing tools, materials, space, management advice, among others.
During the following three years, the project was in the hands of a collective; the lack of tools for group agreement and emotional management within the group led to the cessation of the project in 2015, converting into a pilot project for future undertakings of its kind.
Mentally and schematically I continue working and designing along the lines of the original idea and I can say that the experience I acquired with all of my efforts (completely non-remunerated) gave me many tools for future endeavors.
Currently, I am conditioning my home/studio to convert it into a center for research, creation, and multi-disciplinary exhibition, as well as a place to generate workshops and socio-cultural experiences.
